Margaret Linda Stevens

Margaret Linda Stevens of Covington, passed away August 27, 2013 at Covington Manor Nursing Home.  She was 67 years of age at the time of her death.  Miss Stevens was preceded in death by her long-time caregiver, Aileen Gunter and is survived by her special family, Danny Fitts, Linda Fitts, Jessica Fitts; as well as her extended family.

 

A Graveside Service for Miss Stevens will be held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, August 31, at Lawnwood Memorial Park.  Visitors will be received prior to the service, from 10:00 until 11:30 A.M. at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Apostolic Community Church, 2094 Highway 81 South, Covington, GA  30016.

Obit - Joyce Ann Morton

Mrs. Joyce Ann Morton, of Covington, died August 28, 2013 at the age of 82.  She enjoyed traveling, being outdoors tending to her flowers, and shopping.  She retired from Lithonia Lighting after 31 years of service and was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Morton loved her family and the many friends she came to know through her job and will be missed by all.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover C. "Tony" Morton, Jr. and parents, Grover Cleveland and Mureen Jane Young.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Jimmy Cronan of Covington, GA; grandchildren, Scott and Maree Cronan of Covington, GA, Keith Cronan of Covington, GA, Angie and Joe Tkacsik of Oxford GA; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Gary Ellis of Covington, GA, Freida and Jimmy Pitts of Covington, GA; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Morton will be held Sunday, September 8, 2013, 3:00 PM, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 6154 Collins St. NW, in Covington with Rev. Valorie Harvard officiating.

Obit - Anna May Newman

Anna May Newman, 92, of Mansfield, passed away August 26, 2013. Mrs. Newman enjoyed gardening, reading, poetry, music, and going to Georgia Bulldog games. She loved all kinds of animals, but especially loved dogs. Mrs. Newman loved her family dearly, and will be missed by all who knew and cared for her. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Park Newman; son, Frank Timothy Clark; parents, Dillon and Matilda (Hertz) Crowley, Sr., and her brother, Dillon Irwin Crowley, Jr.

Survivors include her son, William (Tony) Clark of Atlanta; step-daughter, Rosemary Tinley and her husband, Lewis of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Kyle Clark, Darrin Clark, Christi Clark; step-grandchildren, John Tinley, Pam Tinley Earl, Susan Tinley Renfroe; great-grandchildren, Neva Clark, Bryce Clark; step-great-grandchildren, Fiona Tinley, Katie Earl; daughter-in-law, Peggy Clark; niece, Vicki Crowley Bedwell; cousin, Mathilda Hertz Studley; god child, Marienne Kruze Skinner; cousins in Ireland, Australia and Tasmania.

Obit - Lois R. Sealock

Lois R. Sealock, 89, of Covington, passed away August 26, 2013. Mrs. Sealock enjoyed cooking, taking care of her pets, and spending time with her family - especially her granddaughters. She was an independent woman, and always lived life to the fullest. Her sister, Nina, who considered her a mother-like figure while growing up, remembers the good times they spent together gardening and canning vegetables. Mrs. Sealock cherished her time with her family and always made everyone feel welcome. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Minnie (Wright) Ragan; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Bill Watson; brother and sister-in-law, I.J. and Helen Ragan; and her nephew, David Watson.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Studdard; granddaughters, Kim Studdard Moore, Rhonda Studdard Floyd; sister and brother-in-law, Nina and Wallace Aiken, all of Covington; nieces and nephews, Diann Martin and her husband, Larry, Pat Shanks, Ronnie Ragan, Ricky Ragan and his wife, Janie, Marie Watson, Randy Aiken and his wife, Frieda, Johnny Aiken.

Walter Byron Fuller, of Covington, passed away August 22, 2013, at the age of 59.  Mr. Fuller loved life and spending time with his family. Opal M. Goins of Monticello, passed away August 22, 2013, at the age of 93. Mrs. Goins was a lifelong resident of Newton County and faithful member of Covington First United Methodist Church for 58 years. In addition, she was involved with the Lillian Everette Circle of FUMC and the FUMC over 50 club. She was loved, and will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Goins was preceded in death by her husband, Terrell A. Goins; son, Robert W. Goins; and her parents, Jonathan and Mamie (Thompson) McClure.

 

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mickey and Bernie Goins of Monticello; grandchildren, Greg Goins of Mansfield, Carla Joost of Conyers, Kelley Buffer of Monticello; great-grandchildren, McCauley Buffer, Candi Joost, Courtney Joost; and her brother, Murray McClure of Covington.

Lillian C. Long of Oxford passed away August 22, 2013 at Newton Medical Center.  She was 89 years of age at the time of her death.  Mrs. Long was a member of Oxford Lions Club, enjoyed going to Chick-fil-A, meeting people, and traveling.  She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Claud Long; parents, James Boykin and Edna (Dasher) Cullars; sisters, Marie Salter, Sara Dial, Doris Green; and brother, Dewitt Cullars.

 

Mrs. Long is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Michael Rutledge of Covington; grandchildren, Tracy and Tommy Rape of Oxford, Jackie Rutledge of Porterdale, Leslie and Tommy Thomas of McDonough, Brett and Valerie Rutledge of Monroe; 7 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Martha Annette Shannon of Covington passed away August 20, 2013.  She was 88 years of age at the time of her death.  Mrs. Shannon enjoyed gardening, her flowers, shopping, and going out to eat. She loved her family and reading her Bible.  She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Shannon; granddaughter, Lisa Gail Stone; grandson, Chris Shannon; and parents, George Anderson and Tannie Mae (Brown) Maughon.

 

Mrs. Shannon is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Alvin Stone of Wedowee, AL, Deborah Montgomery of Covington; sons, Charles Shannon of Loganville, Farron Shannon of Covington; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Stone, Evelyn Henson; brother, Bo Maughon, all of Bostwick.

Obit - Mary Mann

Mary M. Mann, 77, of Porterdale, passed away August 20, 2013. She was a loving mother who worked in her home and raised her family to always trust in God. She loved going to church, singing, and teaching young women about the Bible. Mrs. Mann was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed reading, crocheting, and drawing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Mann, Sr.; sons, William A. Mann, Charles Wesley Mann, Clarence Mann, Jr.; sisters, Janice Brewer, Easter Brewer; and her brothers, Sib Drake and Bill Brewer.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Dozier; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Christie Mann; daughters in heart, Denise Lonaker and her husband, Bryan, Kelly Carter and her husband, David; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Brewer Carter; numerous nieces and nephews.

Obit - Sammy Moss

Sammy Moss, 82, of Covington, passed away August 20, 2013. Sammy was a dedicated employee of Southern Bell, for 31 years, before retiring at the age of 51. He was a faithful member and deacon of Porterdale Baptist Church, and was always willing to do anything the church needed of him. He always stayed busy around the house, and especially enjoyed working in his flower and vegetable gardens. Papa, as he was affectionately known to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was a loving husband to Nanny, a devoted father and grandfather, and a perfect example of how a Godly man should lead his family. He loved to cook for his family and friends, and would never let a soul go hungry! He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. Sammy was loved dearly, and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Cindy Moss Savage; and his parents, Cloma and Stella (Craig) Moss.

Survivors include his best friend and loving wife of 63 years, Nevada C. Moss; sons, Gregg Moss of Covington, Derrick Moss of Mansfield; grandchildren, Jason Savage, Marie S. Webb, Aimee M. Lawson, Cassie M. Singleton, Katie Moss, Craig Moss, Justin Moss, Abigail Moss; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Moss of Covington; two nephews and one niece.

Obit - Hazel McClure

Hazel B. McClure, of Covington, GA, beloved wife of Murray McClure, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Sunday, August 18, 2013, at the age of 88. Mrs. McClure enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, quilting blankets for newborn babies, reading, and writing poems. She even had one book printed titled, "The Three Brooms". She loved her family and friends dearly; she delighted in entertaining and cooking for them. She always cherished the time she spent with those closest to her. She and her true love enjoyed many special times together on the dance floor. Mrs. McClure loved to travel, and considered climbing Diamond Head, in Hawaii, while in her late 70's, as one of her greatest accomplishments. She had a heart for others, and was often found preparing and delivering meals to families in need. Mrs. McClure read her Bible daily and was sure to include family and friends in her daily prayers. She was loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Hill Biggers, Sr. and Clara Webb Biggers; sister, Elizabeth B. Lott; and brother, Emmett Hill Biggers, Jr.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 72 years, Murray McClure of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy M. and R.T. Smith, Jr. of Augusta; grandchildren, Kelly S. and James Petty of Rock Hill, SC, Joshua S. and Judy Smith of Whitefish, MT; great-grandchildren, Chapman Thomas Petty, Macy McClure Petty, Mary Hannah Smith; sister, Sarah Stubbs of Covington; several nieces and nephews.

Obit - Jerry Hagan

Jerry Hagan, 67, of Mansfield, GA, passed away August 18, 2013, after his battle with cancer. Jerry was born in Pittsburg, PA, however he grew up all over the country as a "military brat", due to his father's Air Force career. At one time, Jerry counted over 20 schools he attended while growing up. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Purple Heart recipient, having served two back to back tours in Vietnam. He was Navy, but was stationed with the 3rd Marines. Jerry operated LCM6/LCM8 boats carrying personnel and equipment up and down the Cua Viet River. Jerry attended electronics school, in Pittsburg, and also worked for Iron City Brewery. He went to work for AT&T, in Pittsburg, in 1971. He transferred to New Orleans, LA, in 1975, followed by another transfer to Charlotte, NC, and then finally to Conyers, GA, in 1990. Jerry retired from AT&T, in 2004, after 33 years of dedicated employment. He was known for wearing his Hawaiian shirts on Fridays and answering the phone, "Beautiful downtown Conyers." Jerry was loved, and will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Mary Hagan of Fairborn, OH.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hagan of Mansfield; daughters and son-in-law, Carol Hagan of Metairie, LA; Cheryl and Brian Carpenter; granddaughters, Sydney and Sadie Carpenter, all of Livingston, LA; brothers and sister-in-law, Dan and Bonnie Hagan of San Antonio, TX, Kim Hagan of Colorado Springs, CO; sister and brother-in-law, Jody and Bob Sheese of Xenia, OH.

Obit - Robert C. Bell

Robert C. Bell of Covington, passed away August 18, 2013, at the age of 96. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army proudly serving his country during World War II, and faithful member of Canaan Baptist Church. He was a man who loved God, as demonstrated as a deacon and his love and faithfulness to go on church visitation. Mr. Bell was a loving and devoted husband, dad, Papa, brother and friend to so many. He was known by many as their barber which he practiced for more than 60 years. Mr. Bell worked 20+ years at the Ole Town Conyers Barber Shop before retiring at age 89. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time in his garden. Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his dear wife of 56 years, Clara Bell; parents, Truman and Mae Bell; and his brother, Russell Bell.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Jeff Psyk of Macon, Elaine and Kirt Digby, Betty and Brian McIntyre, all of Covington; grandchildren, Amy Psyk, Hannah Psyk, Daniel and Anna Digby, Jason Digby, Josh McIntyre, Ben McIntyre; sister, Sarah Gaddis; brother, Gene Bell; and several nieces and nephews.

Obit - Luther "Junebug" McCart

Luther "Junebug" McCart, of Porterdale, passed away August 16, 2013, at the age of 67.  He and his wife owned and operated McCart Shell for 17 years.  Junebug was a great story teller and practical joker.  He was a very generous person and was loved by all of Newton County.  He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father, Okanus McCart.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Pat McCart; children and their spouses, Torri McCart, Tim and Sherie McCart, Todd and Melinda McCart; mother, Agneeze McCart; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Charlie Henderson; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronnie McCart, James and Megan McCart; 8 grandchildren, Laura McCart, Ashley Cox, Okie McCart, Ben McCart, Alyssa McCart, Cameron Snyder, Samira Snyder, Jasmyne Snyder; great-grandchildren, Jensen Cox, Memphis Cox; several nieces and nephews.

Obit: Ruby Dell Crawley

Ruby Dell Crawley of Covington, passed away August 15, 2013, at the age of 88. She was a longtime, loyal member of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington. She loved her church, and served in many different capacities and was active in various groups. She was a member and past President of the Pilot Club, and enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening, making ceramics, and reading – especially after the children were grown. In addition, Mrs. Crawley enjoyed traveling with AARP and the Golden Eagles from First Newton Bank. Of her many destinations, she was fortunate to have visited Italy, the Western United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Nova Scotia. Mrs. Crawley loved her family dearly, and above all, she enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Crawley; parents, Marvin and Annie (Shepherd) Johnson; and several brothers and sisters.

Katherine (Kat) Durham

Katherine (Kat) Durham of Mansfield passed away August 11, 2013, at Newton Medical Center.  She was 66 years of age at the time of her death.  Mrs. Durham was a resident of Tucker, prior to moving to Mansfield 15 years ago.  She was a member of Beverly Road Seventh Day Adventist in Atlanta.  Her main interest was her family, but she loved hummingbirds, dogs, flower gardening, and was writing her own Southern Cooking Cookbook.  She was the fourth of 10 children and will be remembered as being completely devoted to her family.  Mrs. Durham was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Benjamin and Flara Bell (Aldridge) Allman.

 

Mrs. Durham is survived by her husband of 46 years, Carl E. Durham of Mansfield; sons and daughter-in-law, Kyle E. Durham of Tucker, John D. and Michelle Durham of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Johathan Riley Durham, Emily Anne Durham; sisters, Charlotte Mayo of Walnut Grove, Janet Cooper of Haihira, Alice Prophater of New London, NC, Robin Rudd of Indian Mound, TN, Joyce Jarrell and Denise Cooper, both of Moultrie; brothers, Edward Allman of Moultrie, Wiley Allman of Tallahassee, FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Durham will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 14, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington with Pastor Parnell Aldridge officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, August 13 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

 

 

Harold "Hobo" Rivers, Sr.

Harold "Hobo" Rivers, Sr., of Monticello, passed away August 10, 2013, at Grady Health Care in Atlanta.  He was 66 years of age at the time of his death.  Mr. Rivers loved hunting, camping, motorcycles, and his dogs, Whisker and Bella. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus and never met a stranger.  He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.  Mr. Rivers was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Helen (McMickle) Rivers.

 

Mr. Rivers is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra "Granny" Rivers of Monticello; sons and daughter-in-law, Harold Gene Rivers, Jr. of Monticello, James and Ann Rivers of Walnut Grove; grandchildren, Travis Rivers and Timothy Rivers; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Pat Rivers of Hamilton; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

 

A Memorial Services for Mr. Rivers will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 17, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Virgil Cantrell officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service, from 12 Noon until 2:00 P.M.

Tommy Brand of Covington, passed away August 10, 2013, at the age of 43. Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting and playing video games with the kids. He was loved, and will forever be missed by his family and friends.

Jacqueline Whitcher Johnson

Jacqueline Hamby Whitcher Johnson died peacefully in her sleep at the Retreat in Monticello on August 9, 2013.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Emily Hamby, late husband, Jim Whitcher, and late husband, Philip E. Johnson, Sr.  Jackie grew up in rural Newton County in the Alcovy area.  As a student, she began work at the cotton mill at Covington Mill.  She completed her education at the Emory University Academy in Oxford.  She began a career in bookkeeping and accounting with the Hartford Insurance Co., in Atlanta, and later as the financial comptroller of the Roy D. Warren Real Estate and Insurance Co. of Atlanta.  She completed her working career as the account executive for the southeastern region of U.S. Steel Agri-Chemical Division in Atlanta.  Jackie was known as a lover of animals, of people, of laughter, and fun.

 

Mrs. Johnson is survived by son, Philip E. Johnson, Jr., and wife, Anita, of Covington; grandchildren, Meridith and Eddie Johnson of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Philip and Leah Johnson of Newborn, Jonathan Oravec of Roswell, Benjamin Oravec of Covington; great-grandchildren, Maryhazel Johnson, Spooner Philip Johnson; brothers, Knox and Pat Hamby, Wayne and Mary Hamby; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, August 11, at Covington City Cemetery.

Obit - Frances Ann Chase Straight

Frances Ann Chase Straight, 92, of Social Circle, GA, passed away August 8, 2013, at Abbey Hospice. Mrs. Straight was born in Lucy, TN, to the late James and Fanny (George) Chase. She attended the University of Mississippi, graduated from Vanderbilt University, and later returned to graduate school at age 60 to pursue studies in Christian Counseling at Columbia International University, in Columbia, SC. She and her late husband, Dr. George William Straight, raised their family in Savannah where he practiced general medicine and surgery.  While in Savannah, Mrs. Straight was involved in many civic organizations and Christian ministries. In particular, she was involved in the founding of the Children's Theater, Speech and Hearing Center, Family Counseling Center, and The Savannah Country Day School. She was also President of the Junior League of Savannah. In later years, she was a speaker and retreat leader with Christian Women's Club of Stonecroft Ministries. After moving to Social Circle, in 1986, she became an active member and Sunday School teacher at Social Circle First Baptist Church. For the last ten years, Mrs. Straight has been a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, in Covington. She taught many Bible studies over the years, not only in Social Circle, but also in Savannah, Athens, Madison, and Covington. Mrs. Straight was loved, and will be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and John St. Clair, Nelle and Jim Hall, all of Social Circle, Susan and Jimmy Strahan of Highlands, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Angela Straight of Savannah; grandchildren, George William Straight, II, Judith Straight Rushing, Sue Ann Stutz, Scott St. Clair, Chase Cutts, Will St. Clair, Kate Thompson, Amanda Frizzie, Kerri Jones, Matt Hall, Justin Hall, Michael Strahan, Paige Strahan; 20 great-grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Melissa Cabe of Monticello.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Straight will be held Saturday, August 10, 2013, 1:00 PM, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 11171 Highway 278, in Covington, with Pastor Rob Rienstra officiating. Mrs. Terrell (Doris) Johnson of Covington, passed away August 7, 2013, at the age of 89. She was a member of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church. Mrs. Johnson always enjoyed frequenting Mamie's Kitchen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Terrell W. Johnson; grandson, Chris Campbell; and her parents, Claude and Emma (Mills) Polk.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Don Campbell of Covington; grandchildren, Shawn and Michelle Campbell, Amanda Campbell; great-grandsons, Austin Campbell and Kollin Campbell.

Obit - Denny Maddox

Denny Brian Maddox of Conyers, passed away August 6, 2013, at the age of 41. Denny was a loving and devoted father, husband, son, brother and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, playing golf and cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs. But above all he cherished spending time with his daughter, Reanna. Denny was preceded in death by his loving mother, Judy (Thompson) Maddox.

Survivors include his wife, Valerie Dean Maddox; daughter, Reanna Maddox, both of Conyers; step-daughter, Amber Lee and her husband, Dayton; step-son, Daniel Owens, all of Covington; father, William C. "Bill" Maddox of Conyers; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Wynne Maddox of Bethlehem; step-granddaughter, Cheyenne Lee of Covington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Obit - Vivian P. White

Vivian P. White of Covington, passed away August 1, 2013, at the age of 85. Mrs. White was born August 8, 1927, in Jackson, GA, to the late Walthal and Vernita (Kitchens) Pope. She and her husband, Lewis B. White, married October 18, 1947, and the two of them then moved to Covington. Mrs. White was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church, for 58 years, where she was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. In addition, she was a longtime, active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. White worked for both Fowler Fertilizer Co., and the Bank of Covington, before retiring in 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister, Thelma Fleming, and her brothers, Roland Pope and LaDon Pope.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Myron and Brenda White; granddaughter, Abby White, all of Hiram; sister, Annette Shoults of Tucker; brothers, Jerry Pope of Decatur, Dennis Pope of Braselton; sisters-in-law, Reba McCart of Covington, Wyolene Chafin of Richmond, VA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Howard E. Pickett

Howard E. Pickett of Madison passed away July 31, 2013 at Madison Health and Rehab.  He was 91 years of age at the time of his death.  Mr. Pickett was born October 27, 1921 in Covington, GA, and was one of eight children.  He joined the Navy when he was 22 years old where he served in the Pacific Arena and Pearl Harbor.  Mr. Pickett married Betty Jo Pierce in 1943.  Betty Jo passed away in 1963.  He married Wilma Yancey Allison in 1965 and in 1972 they moved to Madison to be closer to his job at Gold Kist.  He instantly made his name known throughout the county because of his beautiful gospel singing.  Shortly after moving to Morgan County, Howard and Wilma joined the Beacon Heights Baptist Church.  Mr. Pickett sang the Star Spangled Banner at Braves games, performed at Cultural Center Follies and many other places. Mr. Pickett will be remembered as a loving family man.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo (Pierce) Pickett; granddaughter, Lisa Jo Batchelor; great-granddaughter, Makiya Kitchens; and parents, Denny Dane (Edwards) and James Elbert Pickett.

 

Mr. Pickett is survived by his wife, Wilma Pickett of Madison; daughters-and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Jack Parkman of Buford; Becky Wages, Toby Armour, Luan and Tony Hardeman, all of Madison; sons and daughter-in-law, Denny F. Pickett of Monroe, Tony and Linda Allison of Covington; grandchildren, Destiny Mirenda, Terry Hawkins, Dee Ann Hawkins, June Armour, Tiffany Marks, Patton Wages, Cristi Thacker, Sami Jo Jenkins, Brittany Rae Jones, Brandon Pickett, Ashley Pickett, Evonne Pickett, Donna Sims, Lindsey Kitchens, Libby Anderson; as well as 19 great-grandchildren.
