Dianne Mathis obit
Dianne Mathis of Jersey, passed away June 6, 2015, at the age of 66. Dianne was a very active member at Full Gospel Holiness Church, where she delighted singing in the choir. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and put others before herself. A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed traveling to Indiana to visit her grandchildren, she will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dewey Mathis; parents, Jeff Harold and Sara Annette Long.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Sam Racster of Portland; grandchildren, Matalin and Dylan Racster; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Charles Autry of Social Circle, Becky and Snooky Wright of Monroe, Kaye and Randell Allgood of Jersey; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Bessie Long of Eaton, SC, Jack and Ida Long of Scottsdale, AZ; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Mathis will be held Monday, June 8, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Full Gospel Holiness Church, 3170 Highway 138 NW, Monroe, GA 30655, with Rev. Larry Carter, Rev. Randell Allgood and Rev. Lynn Head officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Sunday June 7, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.

Gerald Temple
Gerald Temple, of Social Circle, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the age of 80. A former member of First Baptist Church of Hartwell, he was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Social Circle. Mr. Temple was a sales representative and troubleshooter for Murray Gin Company, for 12 years, prior to becoming the manager of Little River Farms, where he was a dedicated employee for 20 years. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his family at Lake Hartwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Sallie Mae (Loyd) Temple.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Gail Temple; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Wayne Porch of Conyers; son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Denise Temple of Social Circle; grandchildren, Jason Porch, Matthew and Brittany Porch, Samantha Temple; great-grandchildren, Hailey Porch, Madison Porch, Abigail Porch, Jesse Porch, Westyn Porch, Garrett Deerman; sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Barnwell Calhoun of Tifton; brother and sister-in-law, John and Ouida Temple of Sky Valley, GA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Temple will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Social Circle, with Rev. Michael Hardy, Rev. Michael Dyar, Rev. Milton Woods and Mr. Bill Clegg officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 – 1:45 PM prior to the service. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Social Circle Building Fund, 195 N. Cherokee Road, Social Circle, GA 30025.

Charles P. "Charlie" Williams
Charles P. "Charlie" Williams, of Covington, passed away June 1, 2015, at the age of 60. Charlie enjoyed sports, especially softball, and riding his motorcycle. He was a die-cast car collector and loved attending car shows. A dedicated employee of Panasonic for 21 years, Charlie was a giving person who always thought of others first. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Williams; and brother, Jerry Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Williams; mother, Lillie Williams; sisters, Jean Smith, Charlotte Valentine, Christy Wall; brothers, Jessy Williams, Jeremy Williams; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Charlie will be held Thursday, June 4, 2015, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell and Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Scott Moore officiating, and interment following in Corinth Cemetery in Stone Mountain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, June 3, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
