Hugh  S. Cooper of Jackson, passed away Thursday,  December 27, 2018, at the age of 78. Mr. Cooper supported himself through college  and after graduating continued to build on his strong work ethic. As a self-made  man, he provided for his family with the same drive and determination. Mr.  Cooper was an attentive father and grandfather, and he enjoyed cheering on his  children and grandchildren while they played sports. He loved his life on the  lake where he would relax and drink coffee. Mr. Cooper was a motorcycle enthusiast  and was proud to be a part of the Romeo Brotherhood. He was preceded in death  by his parents, Hugh Steven and Julia (Phillips) Cooper; sister, Ann Holton; brothers,  Jippy Cooper, Danny Cooper; and brother-in-law, Frank Ivey.
     
    Survivors  include his loving wife, Connie Cooper; sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and  Kimberly Cooper of Covington, Phil and Anna Cooper of Newnan; grandchildren, Austin  Cooper, Logan Cooper, Brittany Courie, Brooke Courie, Hallie Miller, Hanna  Miller, Brian Cassidy; great-grandchildren, Sage Biggerstaff, Meadow Staver; sister,  Pettye Ivey; brother and sister-in-law, David and Janice Cooper of Monroe; as  well as several nieces and nephews.
         
    A Memorial  Service for Mr. Cooper will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019, 11:00 AM, at  Stark United Methodist Church, 1097 Halls Bridge Road, in Jackson, with Rev.  Stephen Soulen officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church,  one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
