OBITUARY
Stephen (Bubba) Craig Hudgins, Jr., of Covington, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018, at the age of 20. Bubba was a 2016 graduate of Alpha Omega High School. He was a Christian young man and a lifelong member of The Baptist Tabernacle, where he actively participated with several ministries. In addition to being a member of the Joy Sunday School Class, he worked with the youth for many years and was also part of the outdoor ministry. Bubba was equipped with an exceptional work ethic. He worked six days a week with the R.E. Michel Company, in Conyers, and had just recently started his own landscaping business, Newton Lawn Pros. An outdoorsman through and through, Bubba carved out time to enjoy his favorite activities - hunting, fishing and boating. Social in nature and family-oriented, he also made time for being with friends and loved ones. As a self-taught musician, Bubba played bass, guitar, banjo and piano. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dr. Derrell D. Hudgins.
Survivors include his parents, Dr. Stephen C. Hudgins, Sr., and wife, Sandy, of Covington; sister Elizabeth Ruby Hudgins of Covington, and her boyfriend, Ben Landers of Bennett, NC; maternal grandparents, William and Shirley Moody of Covington; paternal grandmothers, Jane Hudgins of Marietta, Madeline Hudgins of Fayetteville; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Funeral Service for Stephen will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018, 2:00 PM, at The Baptist Tabernacle, 10119 Access Road, Covington, with Dr. David C. Moody, Dr. Stephen C. Hudgins, Sr., and Rev. Brant Sweat officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Friday, October 12, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to 30-30 Ministries, P.O. Box 4446, Eatonton, GA 31024. (Indicate that your contribution is in memory of Stephen Hudgins.)
