Dorothy "Louise" Bell

Dorothy "Louise" Bell, 66, of Oxford, GA, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019, after a short battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by family when she peacefully drifted off to be with the Lord. Louise was born in Porterdale, GA, June 14, 1952, to the late Jack Kerbow and Ida Arbeau. She began her career with Harland as a double checker on the night shift in 1977. Louise worked there for the next 38 years, until her retirement in 2015, as a Business Analyst. During this time, she made many friends that she considered part of her extended family. Many of these friends were able to visit with Louise during her remaining days and reminisce about the good ol' days. She always had a love of travel, whether it was cruising the seas, or hopping in the car and driving across the country. Louise's favorite destinations ranged from sailing to Grand Cayman with her granddaughter, Samantha, to enjoying the road trip to Virginia with her grandson, Jeremy. And when no one was available to take the trip with her, she had no issue with exploring Hawaii by herself. With Louise's fun spirit and go-with-the-flow attitude, every vacation was the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. Throughout her life, she enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, making flower arrangements, quilting, and crocheting - one of the most recent creations was a crocheted American flag measuring 50" wide by 66" long. Louise was a faithful wife of 50 years to her husband, John William "JW" Bell, and a loving mother to her two children, Keri Ann Bell Koehler and Tracy Louise Bell Monahan, who predeceased her while serving in the United States Army. She was preceded in death by brothers, Danny Ray Smith and Robert Kerbow; as well as her step-mother and best friend, Jean Kerbow.

"Gigi" is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Keri Ann Bell Koehler and her husband, Patrick of Annandale, VA; grandchildren, Samantha Clark and Jeremy Ziarkowski; siblings, Jackie Shaffer, Dennis Smith, Joel Smith, Linda Bell, Brenda Valdez, Darlene Rodriquez, Kevin Kerbow. Louise will be missed by the host of nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends and colleagues in whose life she has made a difference.

A Funeral Service for Louise will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019, 3:30 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Kevin Kerbow officiating and interment following in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, 699 American Legion Road, Conyers. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Friday, February 22, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, Louise would have preferred a donation be made in her memory to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, 155 East 55th Street, Suite 6H, New York, NY 10022.

Deacon Pahpah Sam was born on March 25, 1941, to Taetus Mike (Paliksru) and Sepe Natunsak Clarence. He grew up in Lelu, Kosrae, Federated States of Micronesia, where he made numerous friends, including Emma Palik, who became his wife on December 29, 1996, and with whom he started a family. Being the oldest son in the family, he always tackled hardship and provided for his siblings. He was the go-to whenever needed because he was known to not let fear overcome him. This is because of his true faith in Jesus Christ, as he told friends and family.

He is a brother to Achue (Palen Alfonse, Pohnpei), Intirine (Joe, Hawaii), Kenye (Carl Abraham, Kosrae), Zakias (Berlina Ittu, Kosrae), Erwina (Elanjo Obet, Kosrae), and Intirine (deceased).

His faith in Jesus Christ was so great that he gave up all earthly longings and dedicated his life to serving the Lord. Eventually, he became a Minister for Kosrae Congregational Church where he was later ordained a Deacon. Along with other Kosrae Congregational Church leaders, he helped build and establish what is now called Kosrae-Conyers Congregation (Etawi), in Conyers, Georgia.

Pahpah Sam will be lovingly remembered by his siblings and his children: Rick Jason (Dora Langu), Kunie Lise (Sam Abraham), Lila Thelma (Gibson George), Nancy Janilia (John Saimon), Tony (Maria Pelep), Nowel (Lelean George), Remah (Bensily Lowary), and Ralph (Marion Welley). He was preceded in death by his sister, Intirine; son, Ralphtilson; granddaughter, Julia George.

He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Clara George, Kasuo George, Julia George, Peter Johannes, Emmalina Mike, Nayven Mike, Nolan Mike, Sandy Lowary, Abban Lowary, Samuel Clayton, Sam RJ Mike, and RD Rick Jason Mike.

A Funeral Service for Deacon Pahpah Sam will be held Monday, February 18, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, Georgia, 30014, with Rev. Nena W. Benjamin officiating.
