Gustavo Duran Canas, Sr. of Covington, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019, at the age of 73. Mr. Canas was very patriotic and enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he especially adored the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Silverio Canas and Guadalupe Duran.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ruth Canas; daughters and sons-in-law, Nohemi Canas Hernandez and Gerald Hernandez, Marisol and Mario Perez; son, Gus Canas; grandchildren, Mario Perez, III, Matthew A. Perez, Emily V. Canas, Angelique K. Perez, Lucas Vaughn, Maria R. Canas; sister, Sylvia Canas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Silverio and Angelina Canas, Jorge and Gloria Canas, Alejandro and Lydia Canas, Jaime and Nancy Canas, Raul and Sylvia Canas.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Canas will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019, 7:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Monday, February 25, from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
