It is with great sadness that the family of Deacon Pahpah Sam T. Mike announces his passing on January 25, 2019, at the age of 77.
Deacon Pahpah Sam was born on March 25, 1941, to Taetus Mike (Paliksru) and Sepe Natunsak Clarence. He grew up in Lelu, Kosrae, Federated States of Micronesia, where he made numerous friends, including Emma Palik, who became his wife on December 29, 1996, and with whom he started a family. Being the oldest son in the family, he always tackled hardship and provided for his siblings. He was the go-to whenever needed because he was known to not let fear overcome him. This is because of his true faith in Jesus Christ, as he told friends and family.
He is a brother to Achue (Palen Alfonse, Pohnpei), Intirine (Joe, Hawaii), Kenye (Carl Abraham, Kosrae), Zakias (Berlina Ittu, Kosrae), Erwina (Elanjo Obet, Kosrae), and Intirine (deceased).
His faith in Jesus Christ was so great that he gave up all earthly longings and dedicated his life to serving the Lord. Eventually, he became a Minister for Kosrae Congregational Church where he was later ordained a Deacon. Along with other Kosrae Congregational Church leaders, he helped build and establish what is now called Kosrae-Conyers Congregation (Etawi), in Conyers, Georgia.
Pahpah Sam will be lovingly remembered by his siblings and his children: Rick Jason (Dora Langu), Kunie Lise (Sam Abraham), Lila Thelma (Gibson George), Nancy Janilia (John Saimon), Tony (Maria Pelep), Nowel (Lelean George), Remah (Bensily Lowary), and Ralph (Marion Welley). He was preceded in death by his sister, Intirine; son, Ralphtilson; granddaughter, Julia George.
He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Clara George, Kasuo George, Julia George, Peter Johannes, Emmalina Mike, Nayven Mike, Nolan Mike, Sandy Lowary, Abban Lowary, Samuel Clayton, Sam RJ Mike, and RD Rick Jason Mike.
A Funeral Service for Deacon Pahpah Sam will be held Monday, February 18, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, Georgia, 30014, with Rev. Nena W. Benjamin officiating.
