Ed Kirkley of Oxford, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the age of 87. A free-spirited and adventurous person, Mr. Kirkley traveled to many places all over the country – even buying his own town in North Dakota. People often said that if he could dream it, he would make it happen. Mr. Kirkley's occupation of driving a bus often led him to meet a lot of famous people. In his younger years, he enjoyed participating in rodeos. He was also an ordained minister. Mr. Kirkley touched many lives and will be remembered as a loving family man. He was preceded in death by his mother, JennyE Hartman; father, Edward Mendal Kirkley, Sr.; brother, Marc Hartman.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Coady Kirkley; children, Luann Kirkley and wife, Lisa Kirkley, Andy Kirkley and wife, Kim Cochran Kirkley, Barry Kirkley and wife, Carey Kirkley, Ben Hickey and wife, Debbie, JennyE Keefer and husband, Ray, Terri Trinder, Ed Kirkley and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, River Kirkley, Amir Kirkley, Jourdan Kirkley, Chelsea Smith, Nichole Peeters, Marshon Still, Rajon Nock, Destiny Schoenherr, Honney Peterson, David, Jerry, Karen Janette, Melissa Sponaugle, Kristi Kirkley, Michelle Parker, Mary Wall, Julie Mabie; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; beloved friends, Charley and Charlotte Taylor.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Kirkley will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Jim Ross officiating and interment following in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, 2120 Keys Ferry Rd., in McDonough. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Friday, February 15, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
