Shelvie Dalton, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the age of 67. Mrs. Dalton was married to the love of her life, Robert, for over 49 years and loved her family dearly. Whether it was traveling to the mountains, spending time at the lake, or playing cards with her mom, sister and friends, being with those she loved is what she cherished most. In Mrs. Dalton's free time, she enjoyed canning vegetables she grew from her garden, doing crafts, collecting trucks (especially red ones), and listening to old country music. She was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Lewis Sorrells.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Robert Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Jason Parker, Tina and Kevin Smith, Wendy and Josh Arnold; grandchildren, Justin Parker, Weston Parker, McKenzie Cooper and husband, Tyler, Chandler Tolbert, Abby Arnold, McKayla Arnold, Hunter Smith; mother, Imogene Sorrells; sister, Gail Chadwick, brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Edy Sorrells, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Dalton will be held Monday, April 19, 2021, 4:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating and interment following in Newborn Memorial Cemetery, 128 Steve Polk Road, in Newborn. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home two hours prior to her service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Newton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 28, Covington, GA 30015. The family has requested that you dress casual and in your blue jeans.
Governor Brian Kemp's latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
