Penelope (Penny) Cagle Rutledge, age 63, of Porterdale, passed away September 13, 2014, following an extensive illness. She attended Porterdale Baptist Church, and enjoyed crocheting, reading, cooking and listening to music. She especially enjoyed listening to her grandson, Dylan, play the piano, and also spending time with her other grandson, Eli. Ms. Rutledge devoted her life to caring for her parents, daughter and grandsons. She had a great sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Bill and Maybell Cagle; and her sister, Peggy Batchelor.
Survivors include her daughter, Ivy Rutledge Ingram of Porterdale; grandsons, William Dylan Anson Ingram, Elijah Dale Ingram; brother, Charles Cagle of Covington; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Ms. Rutledge will be held Thursday, September 18, 2014, 4:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Dickie Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, two hours prior to her service, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Porterdale Baptist Church, P.O. Box 637, Porterdale, GA 30070.
