Donald Harvey Ramey

Donald Harvey Ramey, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at the age of 83.

Mr. Ramey courageously served his country in the United States Navy. In his spare time, he enjoyed many hobbies such as fishing, gardening, bird watching (hummingbirds were his favorite), cooking, and playing card games – especially pinochle. Mr. Ramey inspired in his daughters a love of the ocean, the woods, the mountains, and outdoor adventures. He also inspired their love of games and bird watching. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family. Mr. Ramey was described by his family and friends as easy going, never complaining, and a hard worker who provided for his family. His constant companion was his pup, Ginger, and his presence as a caring husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather will be profoundly missed. Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by his father, William Donald Ramey; mother and step-father, Vida Pearl (Patterson) and Woodrow "Papa" Powell; brother, Richard Ramey.

Those who will carry on in his memory is his wife of almost 62 years, Anne Ramey; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn Anne Patterson; Pamela Renee Ramey-Tatum (John), Robin Regina Ganyard (Carl), Christina Denise Nelson (Myles), Donna Darlene Mincey (Oscar); grandchildren, Steven, Sharena, Candace, Megan, Carla, Mikey, Lil Myles, Luke, Lindsay, Sadie, Bradley; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Karsten, Holden, Selah, Hannah, Easton, Ramey, Warren, Jaelyn, Kinlee, Jade, Laken, Levi; special cousin, Teeny Wade; as well as brother-in-law, Bill Bishop, Jr.
