Robert Arnold Sills of Social Circle, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the age of 79. Mr. Sills was a member of Eastridge Community Church for 26 years where he enjoyed serving communion. He was a graduate of Stone Mountain High School, attended the University of West Georgia, and was an Alumni of the University of Georgia. Mr. Sills was a great salesman and won many awards in his career over the years. He lived his life to the fullest as he had many hobbies, such as a bass tournament fisherman winning numerous trophies, playing golf, camping, working in his garden, and riding his motorcycle and horses. In addition, Mr. Sills was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching women's softball and cheering on the University of Georgia Bulldogs. Showering his family with love and affection, he adored the time spent with his granddaughter, Haidyn. Mr. Sills was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Annie Sills.
Survivors include his loving wife, Leta Sills; daughter, Kaila Sills and fiancé, David Pendleton; granddaughter, Haidyn Pendleton; sisters and brother-in-law, Karen Sills, Lynne and Hal Thrower; Brother-in-law, Timothy McWaters and wife, Mayra; niece, Jennifer Martin; nephews, Bradley McWaters, Jeffrey McWaters, and Jeffrey Nixon.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Sills will be held Monday, November 16, 2020, 6:30 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Scott Moore and Greg Herring officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior to his service, from 5:30 – 6:30 P.M. The family has requested that anyone attending the services, to please wear a mask.
CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services. In addition, gatherings are limited to 50 persons or less in our facility at one time. Please honor these restrictions for the safety of the family, yourself, and our staff.
