Larry Wade Kirkman Obituary

Larry Wade Kirkman, of Covington, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021, at the age of 78. Mr. Kirkman was a member of Common Ground Church. He loved to go out with friends on the boat and go out to eat. Mr. Kirkman was very active, playing tennis and running track. Additionally, he played and watched football. In general, Mr. Kirkman was a big sports fan. He cherished his family dearly. Mr. Kirkman was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Ruth Kirkman; and sister, Bonnie Kirkman.

 

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Brenda Kirkman; children, JoAnn Compton (Ronnie), Ginger Woods, Chris Bunn, Greg Bunn (Jamie), Kelley Johnston-Towe, Jennifer Kirkman; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and some extended family in North Carolina.

 

A Memorial Service for Mr. Kirkman will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2021,3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Ron Compton officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Larry to the National MS Society, PO Box #91891, Washington, D.C. 20090, or to Common Ground Ministries, 7165 Turner Lake Circle SW, Covington, GA 30014.

 

Governor Brian Kemp's latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public.  Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
