Jennifer Johnson Obituary

Jennifer Johnson, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the age of 60. Mrs. Johnson was a tour guide in Jamaica and worked hard to be a great provider for her family. She had an infectious laugh that would light up a room and was the life of the party. Mrs. Johnson was a free spirit and a stubborn force of nature with a heart of gold. She cared deeply for others and would give the last thing she had to those in need. Mrs. Johnson was most proud of her family and cherished them dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hortense Renee Francis; father, Dudley Johnson; and sisters, Carvelle Johnson, Doreen Garvey-Palmer.

She is survived by her daughter, Alexa Haughton; son, Andre Black; grandchildren, Elijah Oakes, Brandon Black, Brando Black, Ashley Black; sisters, Sonia Wilson, Christine Hoffman, Rosemarie Garvey, Tejumade Hoffman, Claudette Johnson, Carol Johnson; brothers, Junior Johnson, Clifford Creary; niece, Nadine Leon; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Johnson will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Ewart Lee and Pastor Richard Llewellyn officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home three hours prior to her service from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.

Governor Brian Kemp's latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
