Joyce Kitchens McKissick of Oxford, passed away October 7, 2012, at the age of 75. Ms. McKissick was a member of Oxford Baptist Church; and was a dedicated employee for more than 25 years, at CertainTeed, before her retirement. She loved her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Acie and Josie (Kines) Kitchens; sister, Barbara Day; and her brother, Lewis Kitchens.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Cliff Cochran of Oxford; son and daughter-in-law, David and Kathy McKissick of Loganville; grandchildren, Krista and TJ Waits, Stephanie and Andy Peters, Steve Williams, Lisa and David Denny, Malorie McKissick, Ashley McKissick; great-grandchildren, Josie Peters, Jase Peters, Tucker Waits; brothers and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Brenda Kitchens, Jimmy Kitchens; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Ms. McKissick will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Sean Nix officiating, and interment following in Cornish Mountain Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 9, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
