Lillian C. Long of Oxford passed away August 22, 2013 at Newton Medical Center. She was 89 years of age at the time of her death. Mrs. Long was a member of Oxford Lions Club, enjoyed going to Chick-fil-A, meeting people, and traveling. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Claud Long; parents, James Boykin and Edna (Dasher) Cullars; sisters, Marie Salter, Sara Dial, Doris Green; and brother, Dewitt Cullars.
Mrs. Long is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Michael Rutledge of Covington; grandchildren, Tracy and Tommy Rape of Oxford, Jackie Rutledge of Porterdale, Leslie and Tommy Thomas of McDonough, Brett and Valerie Rutledge of Monroe; 7 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Long will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Covington Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, August 24, from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
