Jerry H. Norton, Sr., of Oxford, passed away May 19, 2014, at the age of 71. Mr. Norton worked as an automobile technician, for Ford, for more than 40 years. He enjoyed gardening, watching NASCAR and repairing cars. He cherished his family, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Norton was preceded in death by his son, Jerry H. Norton, Jr.; parents, James Mark and Addie (Ray) Norton; and his brother, James Mark Norton, Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Janice E. Norton; son, Mark Norton, both of Oxford; daughter, Elaine Norton of Gwinnett County; grandchildren, Ashley Norton, Jerry H. Norton, III, Alyssa Norton; sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle Ann and Buck Miles of Conyers.
Funeral Services for Mr. Norton will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, May 21, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
