Linda McGilton of Covington, passed away June 29, 2014, at the age of 68. She enjoyed painting, working in her yard, attending horse races and traveling, especially to the mountains. Linda loved the Lord, cherished her family dearly, and was a wonderful caretaker to many of her family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Lunnie Sockwell; sisters, Betty Bell, Joanne Johnson; and her brother, Roscoe Sockwell.
Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Bill McGilton; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Gary Hunt; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Sherrie Davenport, Tracy and Larisa Davenport, all of Covington; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Reid; brother, Gene Sockwell, both of Covington; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service for Linda will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2014, 3:00 PM, at Shiloh United Methodist Cemetery, Frontage Road, in Covington, with Steve Johnson and Barney Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, Monday, June 30, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
