Obit - G. Orville Capps

 

G. Orville Capps of Covington, passed away October 1, 2014, at the age of 88. Mr. Capps was a member of County Line Baptist Church. He was a dedicated employee, of the City of Covington, where he worked several years prior to his retirement. Prior to his employment with the City, Mr. Capps worked for Gas, Inc. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, enjoyed watching wrestling and spending time outdoors gardening and fishing. Mr. Capps was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Capps; daughter, Polly Capps McDonald; and his parents, Green and Ozella (Shaw) Capps.

 

Survivors include his son, Andy Capps; son-in-law, Sonny McDonald; grandchildren, Annson and Andy Bates, Annslee and Lennie Barker, Tony and Christine Capps, Tim Capps; great-grandchildren, Matt Bates, Patrick Miller, Nicholas Miller, Michael Bates, Aubrey Michelle Capps; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

A Graveside Service for Mr. Capps will be held Friday, October 3, 2014, 1:00 PM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington, with Rev. J. Clifton Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Friday, one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM.
