Misty Sue Flynn McDonald of Social Circle passed away December 16, 2015, at the age of 48. Misty was born and raised in Quad Cities, Illinois. She owned and operated Misty Sue's Christian 24-Hour Childcare Center, in Conyers and Monroe, where she was affectionately known as "Maw-Maw" to every child. She was respected by her employees and treated them as her own family. In addition to her devotion to Victory Community Church, in Oxford, she used her daycare as her ministry. She longed for everyone to have a church home and personal relationship with Christ. Misty was selfless and her doors were always open to those needing a helping hand. She enjoyed going on cruises and vacationing in Tybee Island. From Illinois to Georgia, she touched the life of everyone she met. Her family loved her dearly and will remember her as one-of-a-kind. Misty was preceded in death by her father, Larry Flynn; maternal grandfather, Clayton Davis; paternal grandparents, Ernie and Irene Flynn
Survivors include her husband, Mark McDonald; children and their spouses, Kasi Hacker, Natasha Short and Johnny Allen, JR and Maria Hacker, Hollie Ethridge, Philip and DeLacey McDonald, Paige and David Lee, Kristen Reynolds; 17 grandchildren; mother, Beckie Phillips; maternal grandmother, Marge Davis; sister, Christy Miller; several nieces and nephews.
Friends can visit with Misty's family Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. A Memorial Graveside Service, for Misty, will be held Wednesday, December 23, 11:00 AM, at Oxford Historical Cemetery, with Pastor Doug Nelms officiating. Flowers are accepted, or memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Victory Community Church, 657 Mt. Zion Road, Oxford, GA 30054.
