James "Stewart" Lunsford of Covington passed away March 22, 2016, at the age of 76. Mr. Lunsford worked for Newton County for 21 years. He enjoyed listening to classic country music and watching wrestling. Mr. Lunsford will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in by his parents, J.P. and Esther Lunsford; granddaughter, Marlana Lunsford; great-granddaughter, Marley Lunsford; four brothers and three sisters.

 

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Hazel Maxine Lunsford; daughters, Connie Sargent of Myrtle Beach, SC, Patricia Ann Lunsford of Atlanta; son, Scott Lunsford of Covington; grandchildren, Crystal Lynn Sargent, Jennifer Denise Cumbess, Matthew Ray Sargent, Jason Andrew Sargent, Joshua Dwayne Sargent, Angel Noel Lunsford, Elizabeth Lunsford; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A Visitation for Mr. Lunsford will be held Friday, March 25, 2016, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road in Covington.
