Peggy Ann Dunn of Dacula, passed away March 28, 2016, at the age of 81. A native of Newton County and a graduate of Newton County High School, she loved traveling and teaching. Ms. Dunn taught Middle School in Gwinnett County for 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Atlanta, but also attended Fairview Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville. Ms. Dunn was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lane Dunn; parents, John and Laurie Nell Bates; sister, Bobbie Lev; and brother, Joe Bates.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Penny Prince, Crystal and Edward Mahalitc; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Trish Prince; grandchildren, Preston Prince, Elizabeth Prince, Travis Cockman, Lynett Welch, Babs Riley, Rodney and Hillary Mahaltic, Robin Dunn, Regina Dunn; great-grandchildren, Will Prince; Cain, Ryan, Shawn, Sophia and Jaicee Welch; Caitlyn, Madelyn, Reid and Anna Riley; Michael Mahalitc; Jaden Dunn; special friend, George Croog; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Ms. Dunn will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Rob Sparks Officiating. Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday from 12:30 – 2:00 PM.
