Patsy Russell of Oxford passed away July 8, 2016, at the age of 75. Mrs. Russell obtained her Master's Degree in Education in 1976, from the University of North Georgia. She retired after 40 years of teaching with Cobb County and Rockdale County. Mrs. Russell was a very active member of Oxford Baptist Church for over 25 years. She loved to travel and work around her house. Preceding her in death were her parents, Jesse and Montine (Kitchens) Ellington.
Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Don Russell; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Bo Barnett of Oxford; sons and daughter-in-law, David Russell, Donald and Kara Russell all of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Colby Westbrook and his wife, Ashley, Dylan Westbrook, Hannah Barnett, Matthew Russell, Katie Russell, Joshua Russell, Allie Russell, Samuel Russell.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Russell will be held Monday, July 11, 2016, 11:00 AM, at Ellington Family Cemetery, 330 Duncan Road, Oxford, GA 30054, with Rev. Andy Brown and Dr. George Barnett officiating. Friends may visit with the family Sunday, July 10, 2016, at 2025 Gum Creek Road, Oxford, GA 30054, from 1:00 – 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to the Oxford Baptist Church General Fund, 305 Emory Street NW, Oxford, GA 30054. Friends are welcome to join the family for lunch at Oxford Baptist Church following the service.
