Elizabeth Anne Dameron Young (Beebie) of Covington, passed away August 27, 2017 at 61 years of age. Mrs. Young graduated from Agnes Scott College in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and went on to attend Columbia Theological School. An ordained minister and a lifetime member of Presbyterian Women, she was the Music Director at Gum Creek Presbyterian Church. In addition, Mrs. Young was the preschool director at Grace Covenant Preschool for many years. She was a devout Christian who introduced a multitude of children to Jesus. Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Howard and Faye Brandon; paternal grandparents, Grover and Jessie Dameron; mother-in-law, Nadine Young; and brother-in-law, Kim Young.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 37 years, Edward Wilson Young, Jr.; sons, Edward Wilson Young, III, Ethan Jesse Young; granddaughter, Jade Elisabeth Young; parents, George and Amelia Dameron; sisters, Karen Dameron Sherrill, Vanessa Lee Dameron, Leigh Owens; brother, Ward Dameron; nieces and nephews, Jamie Sherrill, Joey Sherrill, Lee Sherrill, Riley Dameron, Colin Dameron, Christopher Young, Cameron Young, Derek Young, Jean Claude Young, Jesse Young, Anslie Scheidecker, Alexa Grimes; great nieces and great nephews, Elexia Sherrill, Hunter Malcom, Carmen Crowell, Jackson Sherrill, Chloe Sherrill, Jayden Glover, Jaylen Glover, Jonas Sherrill, Tristan Pollock, Presley Sherrill, Paul Young, Abbie Young, Jude Young, Dove Young, Ayden Grimes, Addie Sheidecker; sister-in-law and husband, Nancy and Thomas Grimes; brothers-in-law, Tommy Young, Teddy Gonzaga; father-in-law and wife, Ed and Nell Young; beloved dachshunds, Oscar, Jacques, Bam Bam, LuLu.
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Young will be held Friday, September 1, 2017, 3:00 PM, at Gum Creek Presbyterian Church, 2700 Gum Creek Road, in Oxford with Rev. Ron Hieber officiating. A private Graveside Service was held at Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gum Creek Presbyterian Church.
