Vilma Veronica Nichols of Covington, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the age of 78. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Mrs. Nichols lived in London, England for 20 years, before finally settling in the United States. She was a doting mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. When she was able, Mrs. Nichols enjoyed going to church and volunteering. She liked to travel, visiting family and friends. In her later years, she took pleasure in attending the Senior Center at Turner Lake. Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her husband, Eric Noel Nichols; son, Patrick Nichols; mother, Mae (Campbell) Williams; father, Reginald Hart; and sisters, Mavis Hart, Gloria Johnson.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Denise Nichols and Herman Peter; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Nicola Nichols, all of Covington, Noel and Rhonda Nichols of Buskill, PA, Errol Tucker of London, England; sisters, Colleen Prim, Monica Hart; and brothers, Anthony Hart, Ainsley Hart.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Nichols will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington. Friends may visit with her family at the funeral home, one hour prior to her service, from 10:00 AM – 11 :00 AM. Following the interment, a reception will be held in the banquet room at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, Covington.
