Marcia Smith Harrison, age 79, of Social Circle, passed away November 18, 2017. A member of New Hope Baptist Church in Mableton, Mrs. Harrison's family was the center of her world, especially her grandchildren. Her "grandpups" were also an important part of her life. Mrs. Harrison, who was a fabulous cook, brought together her hobbies of gardening and canning food to prepare delicious meals for loved ones. She will be remembered for her feisty spirit and compassionate nature. Mrs. Harrison is preceded in death by her parents, A.C. Taylor and Margaret Elizabeth (Wilson) Smith.
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Carl Harrison; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Richard Smith, Rhonda and Tracy Moss, Donna Oglesby, Rochelle Harrison; grandchildren, Rebekah, Rachel, Kimberly, Courtney, Joshua, Hartley, Dillon, Cody; 7 great-granddaughters; brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Marie Smith, Wayne and Peggy Smith.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Harrison will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2017, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Dr. Richard Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family, Monday, November 20th, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Flowers are accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA, 18901.
