Charlie Hogan
Charlie Hogan of Jonesboro, passed away February 26, 2018, at 69 years of age. After 35 years of service with Delta, Charlie retired and began a second career, working part-time for the Merchandise Mart in Atlanta. He attended Community Bible Church in, Stockbridge, and will be remembered as a loving family man who especially treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his daughter, Leslie Marie Hogan (2009); as well as his parents, Stoy and Gladys (Haynes) Hogan.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 45 years, Vickie Hogan; daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Bo McMichael; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Veronica Hogan; grandchildren, Chase, Drake, Trey, Natalie, Grayson, Grant; sister, Ellen Oliver; brother and sister-in-law, Stoy, Jr., and Kay Hogan; as well as several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Hogan will be held Sunday, March 4, 2018, 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Community Bible Church, 2001 Jodeco Rd., in Stockbridge, with Pastor James Lewis officiating. Friends may visit with the family, at the church, one hour prior to the service on Sunday, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Jesse (Pap) Len Richardson, age 76, of Covington, passed away February 21, 2018. Mr. Richardson retired from Miller Grading, where he worked as a heavy machine operator. He liked to be outside, working in the yard, but his greatest passion was restoring antique cars. Mr. Richardson will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bufford and Arvaleah (Green) Richardson; and brother, James Richardson.
A private family gathering for Mr. Richardson will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Jesse L. Richardson.

Daniel Moyers, age 61, of Atlanta, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018. Daniel, who played football in high school, would continue his love of sports throughout his life. He loved drinking coffee, enjoyed traveling, and, in his younger years, Daniel relished the time spent with his daughter, Robin. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Rabun; parents, James Edward and Sarah (McDaniel) Moyers; and brother, James Richard Moyers.

Jacqueline Pickett Whitten of Conyers, passed away February 20, 2018, at the age of 77. Mrs. Whitten faithfully attended The Church at Covington. When she was able, she enjoyed playing tennis and golf. Additionally, she liked going to Turner Lake where she worked with ceramics with the Seniors group. Mrs. Whitten was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Hinniard and Ina Belle (Lumsden) Pickett; sisters, Florrie P. Jenkins, Emma Louise Moore, Martha P. Lunsford, Zillah P. Sosby, Emily Elizabeth Jones; brothers, Franklin Lanier Pickett, Homer Royce Pickett, Charlie Harold Pickett.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Edward Gary Whitten; daughters and son-in-law, Sherry and John Hill of Tehachapi, CA, Christy D. Linda Colley Napoli, 62, of Mansfield, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on February 20th, 2018. She was born to the late Mr. James and Louise Crenshaw who were longtime residents of Mansfield. She was a member of The Baptist Tabernacle in Covington. A loving wife, mother and granny, she will forever be missed by all, but will remain in their hearts forever.

Her greatest gift was her kind and caring personality which she demonstrated by sending birthday and greeting cards. Butch Woodruff of Covington, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 73 years of age. Known as a dedicated, determined, and dependable man, Butch was a proud and very goal-driven man. He loved being outside, where he put his gardening skills into practice. In addition to being a NASCAR and Georgia Tech fan, Butch enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He cherished the time he spent with his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Grace (Lynch) Woodruff.

Mary Claire Parham of Covington, age 16 months, went to Heaven on February 16, 2018, and is now being rocked in the arms of her Mamaw. Affectionately known as "Prize Number-Nine Grandbaby", Mary Claire was full of love and wonder. Her playful spirit was abundant, and she loved to run, and dance and sing. Always quick to show affection, Mary Claire loved to give hugs and kisses. She adored kittens, puppies, and horses, and she loved candy - especially M & M's.

She attended Lovejoy United Methodist Church for many years. Mrs. Wilson's family and friends considered her caring demeanor to be her greatest gift - one that she selflessly shared with others. Alice Cotton, age 101, of Social Circle, passed away February 15, 2018. Born in Wales, Mrs. Cotton moved to the United States at the age of 12 and settled in Akron, OH. Mrs. Cotton shared her gift of a servant's heart through her service as a lifetime volunteer at Eastside Medical Center, in Snellville. Robert "Gator" Fullen, age 57, of Oxford, passed away February 16, 2018. After graduating high school, Robert followed in his father's footsteps and joined the United States Air Force. He would later use the skills he earned in the Air Force to work as a helicopter mechanic for the Covington Airport. An avid biker, Robert was a member of HOH M/C Detroit for 25 years. He also loved music and was able to channel his artistic side drumming for local bands. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Daniel R. Fullen.

Walter "Walt" Hegwood, age 81, of Covington, passed away February 15, 2018. Mr. Hegwood was faithful and active member of Newton Baptist Church. In addition to singing in the choir with his wife, Patricia, he always attended Men's Prayer Breakfast. He enjoyed playing the guitar with his pickin' buddies and would meet up with them for a meal and fellowship at Bojangles' or Mamie's Kitchen. When not spending time with family or friends, he could be found tending to his vegetable garden. Mr. Hegwood, affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Big Pop", will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jordy Hegwood; sisters, Edna Dorsey, Mildred Studdard; parents, Edd and Jessie Hegwood.

OBIT FOR DANIEL W. CROWE
Daniel W. Crowe, age 70, of Covington, passed away February 13, 2018. Mr. Crowe, a graduate of Druid Hills High School in Decatur, proudly served his country in the United States Army. Early in his career, he worked for both Mathis Dairy and Borden's Dairy, and retired from the City of Covington after 20 years of loyal service. He attended Crosspoint Christian Church in Conyers. Mr. Crowe's memberships at the Masonic Lodge in Mansfield, and the VFW in Conyers, demonstrated his passion for serving others. He was preceded in death by his wife, LouAnn (McGregor) Crowe; and parents, Hoyt Z. and Marianne (Deck) Crowe.
Survivors include his daughter, Beth Crowe Griner and her fiancé, Joshua Stevens of Covington; step-daughters, Meredith Mosley and her husband, Phillip, of Alpharetta, Debbie Still and her husband, Jim, of Mt. Park; sons, Andy Holcombe and his wife, Kim, Tony Holcombe, all of Covington, Todd Crowe and his wife, Kim, of Concord, N.C., Raymond Crowe and his wife, Heather, of Covington; step-son, Chad Phillips and his wife, Amy of Covington; 29 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Leigh Jay
Leigh Jay of Covington, passed away February 10, 2018, at 82 years of age. A strong Christian woman and a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Covington, where she had attended since she was two years old, Leigh sang in the choir, as well as working in the church nursery for 41 years. She graduated from Georgia State College for Women, and retired from Southern Bell, after 30 years of service. Bingo, bowling, and traveling were among her favorite pastimes. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Leigh was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lucille Skinner; and niece, Ricki Lynn.

Obit - Dennis (Denny) Klebba
Dennis P. (Denny) Klebba of Rutledge, passed away February 9, 2018, at the age of 74. Mr. Klebba, a veteran of the United States Army, was a former resident of Detroit, Michigan, before moving to Covington in 1973. He was employed by the Seaboard Railroad, for many years, before he began driving a truck for several years. Mr. Klebba, loving father of two daughters, enjoyed antiquing, visiting flea markets, fishing and taking his daughters camping at Jackson Lake. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Helen (Hudson) Klebba; brothers, Ronald Klebba, Curtis Klebba, Todd Klebba; and his granddaughter, Taylor Marie Klebba.
Survivors include his beloved daughters, Kristi Klebba of Jersey, Kimberli Klebba of Savannah; granddaughter, Layna Thompson; sister, Janet; brother, Jerry Klebba; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Annie H. Crawford of Covington, passed away February 1, 2018, at 79 years of age. A native of Eufaula, AL, and a 1956 graduate of Eufaula High School, Mrs. Crawford attended Washington Street Methodist Church while living in her hometown. She relocated from St. Albans, VT, to Newton County in 1973. Shortly after moving, Mrs. Crawford joined St. Augustine Catholic Church, where she would remain a member for 44 years. She retired from Mobil Chemical Company, in Covington, after 20 plus years of dedicated service. Mrs. Crawford's hobbies centered around her love of the outdoors. She enjoyed deep-sea fishing, camping, motorcycles, hunting, and kayaking. Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William S. Crawford; and her parents, James Soloman and Mary Lois (Norton) Weathers.

A Memorial Mass for Ms. Crawford will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018, 2 PM, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 11524 U.S. Highway 278, in Covington, with Father Roberto A. Orellana as priest-celebrant. Friends may visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Monday, February 12, from 6 – 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
A Memorial Mass will also be held at Washington Street United Methodist Church, in Eufaula, at a later date.

Larry Walden
Larry Walden of Covington, passed away February 6, 2018, at 70 years of age. A member of Stewart Community Church, Mr. Walden was a strong Christian man. Because of his loving and caring demeanor and his passion for helping people, he never met a stranger and would give you the 'shirt off his back'. One of his favorite hobbies was listening to old-time country music. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Walden was preceded in death by his daughters, Kay Walden, Fay Walden; parents, John Thomas, Sr., and Ruth Elizabeth (Miller) Walden; and sister, Connie Henderson.
Survivors include his loving wife of eight years, Janet Walden; sons, Tim Walden and wife, Angie, Greg Walden and wife, Lisa, Steve Walden, Eric Walden; step-daughter, Denee Stapp and husband, Steve; step-sons, Robby Whitley and wife, Kim, Kevin Whitley, Chad Whitley; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Cathy Anderson and husband, Jeff; brothers, Johnny Walden and wife, Sarah, Tommy Walden and wife, Linda, Jerald Walden and wife, Gail.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Walden will be held Friday, February 9, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Stewart Community Church, 13645 Highway 36, in Covington, with Rev. Jason Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the church two hour prior to the service, from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM. Flowers are accepted or contributions, in memory of Mr. Walden, may be made to Stewart Community Church Building Fund.

Mary "Ila" Wilson of Covington, passed away February 3, 2018, at 73 years of age. Mrs. Wilson was a lifelong resident of Newton County, and a 1962 graduate of Newton County High School. She attended Lovejoy United Methodist Church for many years. Mrs. Wilson's family and friends considered her caring demeanor to be her greatest gift - one that she selflessly shared with others. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Christina Wilson; and parents, Ollie and Mary Lois (Patrick) Mask.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 55 years, Norris Wilson; daughter, Roxanne Morris of Monroe; son, Franklin N. Frances Morrow of Covington, passed away February 3, 2018, at 94 years of age. A resident of Covington since 1999, Mrs. Morrow worked as a certified nursing assistant for many years. Her heart's true calling was caring for nursing home residents. She was a past member of the Eastern Star, and her hobbies were cooking, canning, tending to her flowers, and gardening. Mrs. Morrow was a devout Christian who prayed faithfully and loved God. She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Olivia Arrendale; parents, Gailey Mose and Hattie Bell (Dove) Dispain; sister, Irene Duvall; and brothers, Grady Dispain, Harold Dispain, Edward Dispain, Gerald Dispain.
Survivors include her loving husband of 74 years, Carl C. Morrow; daughters and son-in-law, Margaret Lindsey of Social Circle, Nancy and Clayton Hartley of Cleveland, GA; son and daughter-in-law, David and Deborah Morrow of Monroe; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha Jones of Commerce, Margie and Bill Winn of Lawrenceville, Helen Alewine of Commerce; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Sue Dispain of Duluth, Hollis and Evelyn Dispain of Covington, James and Melba Dispain of Loganville; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

obit for Mrs. Crawford
Annie H. Crawford of Covington, passed away February 1, 2018, at 79 years of age. A native of Eufaula, AL, and a 1956 graduate of Eufaula High School, Mrs. Crawford attended Washington Street Methodist Church while living in her hometown. She relocated from St. Albans, VT, to Newton County in 1973. Shortly after moving, Mrs. Crawford joined St. Augustine Catholic Church, where she would remain a member for 44 years. She retired from Mobil Chemical Company, in Covington, after 20 plus years of dedicated service. Mrs. Crawford's hobbies centered around her love of the outdoors. She enjoyed deep-sea fishing, camping, motorcycles, hunting, and kayaking. Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William S. Crawford; and her parents, James Soloman and Mary Lois (Norton) Weathers.

Rick Thibadeau of Decatur, passed away February 2, 2018, at the age of 71. Rick was a fitness enthusiast who enjoyed working out and running at Stone Mountain Park. He also enjoyed traveling to the beach and relished the evening sunsets. Rick adored his family and cherished the time he spent with him. Undoubtedly, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Payne) Thibadeau; and his parents, Richard and Catherine (Marshall) Thibadeau.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Knight of Covington; son, Josh Thibadeau of Oxford; and his two grandchildren, Eliot and Ethan Knight.
Funeral Services for Rick will be held Sunday, February 4, 2018, 3 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. J. Clifton Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, two hours prior to his service, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.
