Obit - Peggy Burgess

Peggy Burgess, of Covington, passed away September 23, 2018, at the age of 62. Sister Peggy was an active member of Higher Praise Tabernacle. A devout Christian woman, strong in her faith, she delighted in the Word of God. Peggy adored her family and cherished the time she spent with them. When she was not busy with her church and her family, she enjoyed traveling and playing on her iPad. Peggy was a respected member of her church family, loved by all who knew her and will certainly be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Cora Lee Herring; and her brother, Paul Summers.

 

Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Bill Burgess; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Kevin White; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill, Jr., and Betty Burgess, David and Candy Burgess; grandchildren, Ashley, Samantha, Breeanna, Amy, Kimberly, Jacob, Hannah, Chelsea, Andrew; great-grandchildren, Wendie, Kyle, Nick, Kourtney, Exie, Khloe; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirly Corbett, Katie Mann, Dorothy and Ricky Freeman, Brenda Piszczor, Shirley and Dennis Whitley, Elizabeth and Jody Morrell, Joyce Summers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gilbert Herring, Jerry and Cindy Herring, Tony and Linda Herring; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

 

Funeral Services for Sister Peggy will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018, 11 AM, at Higher Praise Tabernacle, 3915 Highway 162, in Covington, with Pastor Kenneth Morrell and Pastor Robert Nash officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, Covington. Friends may visit with her family Monday, September 24, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington.
