Josephine Canup Savage, of Covington, passed away February 28, 2013, at the age of 85. She worked for the Oxford Shirt Plant for 38 years and enjoyed vegetable gardening. Mrs. Savage dearly loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her second family at Lovejoy United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Savage; parents, Virgil and Flossie Canup; several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Bruce Tamplin; son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Carol Savage; grandchildren, Kerre and Jason Streetman, Jason and Della Hyde, April Savage; great-grandchildren, Macy, Blake, Caitlin, Austin, Ethan, Braxton; brother-in-law and his wife, Leon and Anne Savage; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Savage will be held Sunday, March 3, 2013, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Richard Gravitt officiating, and interment following in High Point Baptist Cemetery, in Covington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, March 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Flowers accepted, or donations may be made to Lovejoy United Methodist Church, 12835 Hwy 36, Covington, Georgia, 30014.
