Sarah Huff Chesnut, of Covington, died March 16, 2013, at the age of 91. She retired from AT&T after 28 years of service. A very involved member of Newton Medical Auxiliary, she volunteered many hours at Newton Medical Center. She was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Covington where she sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Chesnut, Sr.; and brothers, Fred Wellborn, E.M. Huff and Ellis Huff.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Judy Chesnut; granddaughter, Lori Chesnut Banks and her husband, Brad; great-grandchildren, Blake Mask and Sarah Kate Banks, all of Covington; brother, Harold Huff of Milledgeville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Chesnut will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013, 3:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. William B. Wade, Jr. and Todd Hilton officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
