Obit: Charles G. "Chuck" Humphries

Charles G. "Chuck" Humphries, of Loganville, passed away on July 20, 2013, at the age of 64.  A 30 plus year resident of Gwinnett County, he was a member of Grayson United Methodist Church.  He took pride in his heritage being a direct descendant of the Cherokee Indian Nation.  His biggest joy was working, and he was a phenomenal carpenter and general contractor.  Mr. Humphries loved people and was a father figure to many people outside of his own family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Myrtice Humphries; sister, Janice Chittum; brothers, Bill Humphries and Rodney Humphries.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Deborah Humphries of Loganville; daughters and son-in-law, Dana and Garry Dinnerman of Buckhead, Jennifer Humphries of Casselberry, FL, Denise Humphries of Lawrenceville; son, Marty K. Humphries; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Dennis White of Oxford; brothers and sister-in-law, Phillip Humphries of Macon, Andy and Dawn Humphries of Oxford; granddaughter, Perri Dinnerman; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

 

Funeral Services for Mr. Humphries will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2013, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, July 21st, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday, July 22nd, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  Flowers accepted or donations may be made to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital, 1001 Johnson Ferry Road, NE, Atlanta, Georgia, 30342, 404-785-4483.
