Sonya Dooley Evans, of Covington, passed away on July 27, 2013, at the age of 42. She dearly loved her family and was very proud of her girls, Amber and Mackenzie. Sonya never met a stranger, and if you knew her, you loved her. She enjoyed writing poetry and spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know and love her. Sonya was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Hazel (Duke) Dooley.
Survivors include her loving husband of 20 years, Greg Evans; daughters, Amber and Mackenzie Evans of Covington; father and step-mother, Bennie and Martha Dooley of Greensboro; sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Tommy Thomason; brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Ellen Dooley; mother and father-in-law, Liz and Ernest Evans; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Cissy and Frank Foster, Johnny and Kim Evans, Ernie and Serena Evans, all of Covington; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Services for Sonya will be held, Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, in Covington, with Pastor Darrell Allen officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, July 29, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
