James "Jim" Dial, of Covington, passed away October 25, 2013, at the age of 50. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington where he enjoyed passing out bulletins at his special door. Jim loved his family and church family dearly. He was the first special education student to graduate from Newton County High School, and he worked as a mail clerk for the Newton County Courthouse for 11 years. Jim was a happy person and inspired everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Cleon Dial.
Survivors include mother, Shirley Dial of Covington; sister and brother-in-law, Iris and James Tyo of Monroe; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Kelley Dial of Cartersville; nieces and nephews, Scott Fisher, Erin Fisher, Brett Fisher, Alex Dial; great-nephew and great-niece, Tripp Fisher, Bayley Fisher; many aunts and cousins.
A Memorial Service for Jim will be held Sunday, October 27, 2013, 3:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church, in Covington, with Rev. Len Strozier and Rev. Jack Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Saturday, October 26, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
