Paul (Winkie) Stansell, age 46, of Conyers, passed away August 11, 2014. Paul was an avid University of Miami sports fan and enjoyed stock car racing. In addition, he enjoyed swimming and taking gambling trips with his mother, Peggy. Paul cherished his friendships, was very family oriented and had a goofy, but fun-loving personality. He often played punch buggy with his beloved daughters, Lacey and Erin. Paul was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his daughters, Lacey Nicole Stansell of Miami, FL, Erin Stansell of Conyers; mother, Peggy Vickery of Conyers; father and step-mother, Jim and Mary Jane Stansell of Elberton; sisters, Leisha Naggie of Elberton, Lynn Martin of Royston; brothers, Rick Vickery of Decatur, AL, David Thornton of Elberton; special uncle, Daniel Strandberg and his wife, Ruby; special cousin/brother, Quinton Champion and his wife, Joan, all of Covington; and many cousins in Georgia and Alabama.
Funeral Services for Paul will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Gene Minor, Justin Champion and Quinton Champion officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, August 12, from 3:00 – 8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Mercy Heart, Attn: Ed Carter, 1045 N. Main Street NW, Conyers, GA 30012.
