Carlik D. McClatchie

On March 11, 1993, the world was blessed with a prince named Carlik D. McClatchie. He was the son of Majorie McClatchie and Carl Bennett. He attended PS 243, MS 354 and ACORN High School, where he was on the JV team because he loved basketball. He received many trophies and was awarded MVP (most valuable player), and he was definitely that. Carlik was well known for his charming ways, that innocent smile and loving nature, which earned him the name "TEDDY". He was big as a bear but soft and gentle. He was also called "KING TUT" because he was a prince with hidden jewels that only the people who knew him could reveal. He was a loving father, son, brother and uncle. Carlik had a love for music as well as for dancing. He stayed focused, concentrating on making hit songs. His famous dance was the "TEDDY SHUFFLE", which had everyone excited to see. On September 9, 2015, at the age of 22, the Lord called for him. Bella McClure

Bella Marie McClure, 6, of Covington, passed away on May 30, 2015, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Her last day on this Earth was spent doing something she loved -- playing at the beach. Bella's life ended much too soon when she was struck by a car. There are no words that can describe the pain of losing this bright, beautiful girl, only words that tell the facts of her life.

Bella was born October 12, 2008. She blossomed in the loving care of her parents, Michael and Belinda McClure. Bella wanted everyone to be happy and she made everyone smile. Her own beautiful smile will be remembered by everyone who knew her. She hugged people, especially her parents, as if it were the last time, every time. A few weeks before her death, Bella graduated from kindergarten at Rocky Plains Elementary School in Covington.

Princess Bella, as she was often called by her family, loved playing dress-up with her mom and playing "princess" with her cousins. To no one's surprise, last Halloween she chose to be Elsa the Snow Queen.

Bella was a creative girl with much curiosity, who found joy in discovering new things. She loved Santa and the Easter Bunny, picking flowers for her mom for Mother's Day, and her purple and pink bedroom she helped her mom create. And she loved sharing her toys, even her beloved Hello Kitty toys, with her cousin Lilah Kate, whom she saw every day.

Bella's mother was critically injured in the same accident that took Bella's life, and Bella's parents credit Belinda's miraculous recovery to the presence of their daughter's strong and loving spirit. They take great comfort in knowing Bella's spirit stays with them as her mother continues to recover.

Survivors are Bella's parents, Michael and Belinda McClure of Covington; her grandparents: Tommy and Clemmie Gale Edwards of Loganville, Mick McClure of Monroe, and Wanda McClure of Alpharetta; her uncles Robbie Edwards of Loganville and Patrick McClure of Covington; her uncle and aunt Jason and Tina Bailey of Covington; and her cousins, Abigail and Lilah Kate Bailey of Covington. Bella is also survived by several great-aunts and great-uncles.

A graveside service for Bella will be held Sunday, September 27, 2015, 5:00 PM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington.   The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, prior to the graveside service, Sunday, September 27, from 3:30 PM - 4:45 PM.
