Carlton Eugene "Gene" Durden, Jr., of Covington, passed away August 28, 2015, at the age of 61. Gene was a loyal employee of Pactiv for over 40 years. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Most of all, Gene cherished the time spent with family and being with his grandchildren was his greatest blessing. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gina Michelle Glass; granddaughter, Zoey Isabella Jones; father, Carlton Eugene Durden, Sr.; and brother, Michael Keith Durden.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 36 years, Annette Long Durden; children and their spouses, Glenda and Anthony Hawk, Joshua Durden, Stephanie and Kevin Partain; grandchildren, Gerald Aikens, Jacob Glass, Isaiah Stodghill, Wesley Durden, Brianna Durden, Elyse Hawk, Kailey Hawk, Dalton Jones, Layla Jones; great-granddaughter, Trinity Aikens; mother, Mary Durden; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Linda Durden; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Gene will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015, 3:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Kenneth Morrell officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, two hours prior to the service, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.
