James E. Hunter, Jr.

James E. Hunter, Jr., of Covington passed away February 19, 2017, at 58 years of age.  Mr. Hunter enjoyed riding his Harley and collecting old cars, but he especially enjoyed traveling to the mountains.  Mr. Hunter loved camping and will be remembered for delicious campfire breakfasts he prepared.  Mr. Hunter cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, James Earl Hunter, Sr.; and step-father, Robert Lee Pittman.

 

Survivors include his wife, Tina Hunter of Covington; daughter, Nikki Johnson and husband Daniel of Grand Bay, AL; sons, Jason Hunter and wife Lyndsey of Butler, GA, Tabb Hunter and wife Miranda of Reynolds, GA, Brandon Hunter and wife Heather, also of Reynolds; 13 grandchildren; mother, Daphne Mae Pittman of Macon, GA; sisters, Lynn Wright and husband Jimmy of Macon, Chris Kirksey and husband David of Butler; brother and sister-in-law, Randy Hunter and wife Sandra of Cochran; half-sister, Samantha McCullough and husband Ronnie of Luthersville, GA, Rebecca Young of Wetumpka, AL; half-brothers, Jeffrey Hunter and wife Rebecca of Greenville, GA, James Ray Hunter of Luthersville, GA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

A Memorial Service for Mr. Hunter will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2017, 4:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Pastor Norman Randall officiating.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home 2 hours prior to the service on Wednesday, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
