Betty Osborne Mitcham of Covington, passed away June 27, 2018, at the age of 85. A supportive member of Covington First United Methodist Church, Mrs. Mitcham sang in the choir and was actively involved in the Stephens Ministry. She also taught an exercise class to fellow church members. Mrs. Mitcham was a member of the Covington Woman's Club and Satsuki Garden Club. She was an artist of oil paintings, loved to fish and enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert Mitcham; parents, Berry and Etna Osborne; siblings, Berry Osborne, Emory (Vernell) Osborne, Martha Ann (Joseph) Summerour, Etna (Charles) Smith; as well as her beloved fur-babies, Samantha and Harley.
Survivors include her daughters, Karan Mitcham Bumann, Carla Mitcham Williamson (Michael), Dalleen Mitcham Bradford (Philip); grandchildren, Eric Peters (Danielle), Brian Peters (Amanda), Paige Williamson, Ashley Williamson, Robert Bradford, Andrew Bradford, Claire Bradford; great-grandchildren, Tyler Peters, Violet Nosal, Gavin Peters, Bailey Peters; many nieces, nephews and close friends.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Mitcham will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018, 11:00 AM, at First United Methodist Church, 1113 Conyers Street SW, in Covington with Rev. Dr. Douglas Gilreath and Rev. Jan McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Friday, June 29, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
