Jose R. Castro of Covington, passed away June 3, 2018, at the age of 65. Mr. Castro turned his life over to God on June 21, 2003. He became an ordained Pentecostal Christian Pastor in 2010, and later became the pastor of Tabernacolo el Refugio. Mr. Castro loved to preach and was a great example to everyone. He was a very intelligent, hardworking man and was an excellent teacher. In addition to reading the Bible, he enjoyed listening to music. Mr. Castro will be remembered as a dedicated pastor, loving father, husband, grandfather, son and brother. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Castro; and brother-in-law, Haroldo Castro.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Crescen Castro; sons, Kevin Castro, Carlos Castro, Ramon Castro; mother, Ermelinda Castro; mother-in-law, Maria Ines Fuentes; grandchildren, Nicholas Vaca, Nadia Castro; sisters, Daisy Castro, Nina Riera, Silva Pinto, Luisa Castro, Elba Lila Castro; brothers, Mario Castro, Gustaro Castro, Oscar Castro, Rodulio Castro, Antonio Rivera; sisters-in-law, Sonia Bustamante, Maria Oviedo; brothers-in-law, Juan Barahona, Angel Barahona, Osman Bustamante, Marcio Barahona, Adonai Barahona, Antonio Rivera.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Castro will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 10:00 AM at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday June 7, from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM and again Friday June 8, from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
