obit for Mrs. Brown

 

Alice V. Brown, age 90, of passed away June 9, 2018. Of the Baptist faith, Mrs. Brown was known for her strength, independence, and love of family. During retirement, she gave her time and shared her compassion for others by volunteering. Mrs. Brown served as a volunteer at the Newton Hospital Gift Shop for many years. She also worked as a monitor on a Special-Education bus for over 10 years. Her hobbies reflected her youthful spirit; she liked camping, traveling - especially trips to the beach, and going on cruises. Additionally, Mrs. Brown loved to play bingo and enjoyed dining out with friends and family. For the last 12 years, she was provided care by her daughter, Virginia Hanson.

 

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Steve Hanson; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Jean Skinner, Dean and Patricia Skinner; 7 grandchildren; as well as 11 great-grandchildren.

 

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Brown will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018, 1:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Scott ---. officiating and interment following in Eastview Cemetery, in Conyers. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Tuesday, June 12^th, from 5 – 8:00 P.M. A
