obit for Virginia H. Moon Walden

 

Virginia H. Moon Walden of Covington, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018, at the age of 86. An active member of the Apostolic Community Church, Mrs. Walden delighted in reading her Bible and attending worship services. She made genuine connections with people and her friendships thrived because of that - and her loving demeanor. She was an attentive and caring mother and grandmother who took pride in cooking meals for her family. Mrs. Walden also loved to travel whenever possible, and she enjoyed going to flea markets with her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Waites Walden, Sr.; grandchildren, Miriam Wright, Ivey Lynn Walden; parents, Doc and Sadie; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dale and Milton Doyle, Ruth and Virgil McCart; brothers, Billy Harper, J.D. Harper, J.B. Harper, Jimmy Ray Harper, Jerry Harper; and son-in-law, Don Wright.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Gail Wright; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Brenda Moon, Johnny and Vicki Moon, Howard and Pauline Walden; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Thelma Harper; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Ellen Harper.

 

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Walden will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018, 11:00 AM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Robert Nash, and Pastor Eugene Inscore officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends may visit with her family at the funeral home, Friday, December 14, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
