Dennis R. Lackey of Covington, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the age of 72. Mr. Lackey proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He was a member of Youth Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Jane Lackey; sister, Molly Brown; brothers, Johnny F. Lackey, George Wilford Lackey and Eddie Dean Lackey.
Survivors include his sister, Mary A. and Glendon Byron Bagley; one niece; several nephews; as well as aunts and uncles, Ethelene and Leonard Roberts, Dolly and Kent Henderson.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Lackey will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Benjamin Reynolds officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, two hours prior to his service, from 12 Noon – 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South West Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291.
