James R. Collins of Covington, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the age of 70. A former resident of Conyers, Mr. Collins enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling and the Andy Griffith show on television. He was a wonderful family man and especially loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Moon) Collins; parents, Roland and Annie Mae (Ethridge) Collins; mother-in-law, Jessie Lee Moon; sister-in-law, Linda Ethridge; and his dog and constant companion, JR.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Lisa Walton of Mansfield, Debbie and Mike Stewart of Loganville, Dewayne and Kim Collins of Covington; grandchildren, Scotty and Amber Walton, Ashley Walton, Cody Collins, Ariel and Matthew Lutz, Brandon and Kailagh Stewart, Lori Stewart; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden, Easton, Grayson, Blakeleigh, Rhyan; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jean and Fred Dunn, Richard Ethridge; as well as many loved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Collins will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2019, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Bro. Terry Chandler officiating and Interment following in Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, in Stockbridge. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Monday, September 9, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
