Doris Reece, of Social Circle, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019, at the age of 84. Mrs. Reece put God first in her life. Second only to her love of the Lord, was her love of family. She was tenderhearted, caring, and made friends everywhere she went – always giving out hugs. In her younger years, her hobbies and passions included working puzzles, crocheting, and listening to and collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia. Additionally, Mrs. Reece enjoyed riding motorcycles and raising money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, as well as writing poetry - even turning some works into song. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.K. Reece, Sr.; parents, Spencer E. and Bertha (Ward) Shepherd; sister, Melbie Fedler; brother, Charles Shepherd; great-grandson, Zion Cameron; and step-mother, Janie Shepherd.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Doug Peters, Freida and Danny Cameron; sons, Rex Reece, Denny Reece; grandchildren, Peter and Amy Cameron, Robert and Linh Haltom, Keith and Miriam Cameron, Melinda and Michael Parker, Brittney McCammon, Jamie Reece, Jeremy and Esma Reece, T.J. and Meghan Peters, Sara and Josh Cobble, Lauren and Ross Crane; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vivian and Danny Siongco, Phyllis and Gene Johnson, Jewel and Jimmy Beasley; as well as brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Lou Shepherd.
