Wilma Jean Clark

Wilma Jean Clark, age 82, of Oxford, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020. Strongly rooted in her faith and an active member of First Baptist Church of Covington, Mrs. Clark counted her church friends as family, and she loved them just the same. She drew others in with her happy nature and warm smile – not to mention her desire for putting others first.  Mrs. Clark liked to travel with her children and grandchildren, and she enjoyed reunions with her former roommates and friends from Calhoun. She will be remembered as a caring and attentive wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Doyle Clark; parents, Merrill and Susie Tennessee (Taylor) Moss; seven sisters; and one brother.

The memories Mrs. Clark created will be held close in the hearts of many, especially her daughter and son in law, Sonya and Sean Shea; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Rachael Clark; grandchildren, Taylor and Adam Garner, Madison Shea, Katherine Ellstrom, Mary-Grace Ellstrom: great-grandchildren, Oakleigh Garner, Kinsleigh Garner; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Clark will be held Friday, February 14, 2020, 11:00 A.M., at First Baptist Church, 1139 Usher Street NE, in Covington, with Dr. Cody McNutt and Kelly Davis officiating. Serving as pallbearers: Jerry Casey, Marvin Thomas, Jimmy Davis, Kelly Davis, Steven Clark, Sean Shea, and honorary pallbearer, Tom Zielke. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, in Stockbridge. Friends are invited to visit with her family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Thursday, February 13, 2020, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Covington.
