obit for Scott Flory

Scott Flory, age 77, of Social Circle, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020. As a proud soldier in the United States Army, Mr. Flory served his country during the Vietnam War. He applied the skills earned during his tour - hard work, loyalty and dedication - to many aspects of his daily life. In the span of 30 years, he was a faithful employee for both Williams Brothers Lumber, and Home Depot, in Conyers, where he eventually retired. Mr. Flory's passion for sports began to grow when he played basketball during his high school days. Through the years, he developed a love for fishing and was an enthusiastic follower of all kinds of sports. Mr. Flory was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Mary Alice Flory.

Mr. Flory and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of many, including his devoted wife of 50 years, Lynn P. Flory; brother-in-law, Paul Petrie and his wife, Gail; niece, Katie Petrie; as well as nephews, John Petrie and his wife, Cathy, Kyle Petrie and his wife, Julie.

A Private Graveside Service for Mr. Flory will be held Monday, April 13, 2020, 1:00 P.M, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Kale Rush officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.

Due to the current COVID-19, and coronavirus pandemic recommendations, the family regrets that the services must be private.
