Rev. William Frank Mobley, of Covington, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021, at the age of 88. Hard working and caring, Rev. Mobley always made sure that his family was provided for. He enjoyed being a minister for 35 years at numerous Holiness Churches, volunteering for many children services around Newton County, and driving seniors to their doctors' appointments. Rev. Mobley had a strong love for his family, friends, and neighbors, and when he was not donating his time to others, he enjoyed vegetable gardening with his wife, Dorothy, and sharing the vegetables they had grown with others. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Dorothy Mobley; daughters, Joyce Mobley, Judy Mobley; grandson, Steven Williams; parents, Raymond J. and Sara Frances (Casper) Mobley; sister, Clara Yearwood; and brother, Gary Mobley.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Gary Cook; grandchildren, Gary Cook, Scott Cook, Ann Johnson; 13 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; as well as 4 brothers.
A Funeral Service for Rev. Mobley will be held Sunday, March 28, 2021, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Chaplain Jane Caruso officiating and interment following in New Hope United Methodist Cemetery, in Between. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Saturday, March 27, from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M.
CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services. In addition, gatherings are limited to 50 persons or less in our facility at one time. Please honor these restrictions for the safety of the family, yourself, and our staff.
