Obit - Rebecca "Becky" Alexander


Rebecca "Becky" Alexander, of Covington, died September 14, 2012, at the age of 88. Becky and her husband were the owners of Covington Jewelry and Alexander Memorials.  She served as the Director of Food Services for the Newton County School System.  Her cinnamon rolls and chili were legendary with school children.  She was a member of the Pilot Club and the Eastern Star.  Becky loved her family.  She loved to cook and also enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents William Bryant and Lillie (Thomas) Dobbs; and her son Tommy Alexander.

 

Survivors include sons and daughters-in law, Jim and Barbara Alexander of Covington, Fred and Linda Alexander of Conyers; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jenny Dobbs of Covington, sister Peggy Long of Orlando, Florida; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Private Graveside Services for Becky will be held Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the City of Covington Cemetery with Rev. Douglas Gilreath, officiating.  Donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1113 Conyers Street, SE, Covington, Georgia, 30014, in lieu of flowers.
