Obit - Jennifer Burkhalter

Jennifer Seago Burkhalter of Covington, passed away June 4, 2013, at the age of 45. Jennifer was a member of Zion Baptist Church, in Covington. She worked as a Special Needs teacher, for Rockdale County School System, for 21 years, and was loved and respected by her students and fellow teachers. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, and traveling to the beach; and especially loved her trip to Hawaii. Jennifer was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, niece, cousin and friend to many. She was a selfless person, who had a passion for others, and constantly did whatever necessary to see to it that their needs were ahead of her own. Jennifer has touched so many lives, and there is no doubt that her influence will remain hereafter. She had a very kind spirit, and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lennie Lee (Radford) Seago.

Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 20 years, Adam Burkhalter; son, Devin Burkhalter, both of Covington; father, Robert Lytch Seago of Conyers; brothers, Jeff Seago of Covington, Brent Seago of Conyers; niece, Jessica Burkhalter of Homerville, GA; nephews, Zachery and Jennifer Seago of Covington, Ethan Burkhalter of Homerville; great-nephew, Gus Seago of Covington; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary Ann and W. C. Burkhalter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Loraine Burkhalter, all of Homerville; grandmother-in-law, Vera Musgrove of Homerville; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.

Funeral Services for Jennifer will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013, 3:00 PM, at Zion Baptist Church, 7037 Highway 212, in Covington, with Rev. Reese Sanders and Rev. Ricky Brantley officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, Friday, June 7, from 6:00-9:00 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made at Farmers & Merchants Bank, c/o Devin Burkhalter's education fund.
