Wiley D. Wilson, Jr., of Oxford, passed away June 19, 2013, at the age of 84. Mr. Wilson enjoyed car racing, wood working, and traveling to both the beach and the mountains. He was a devoted husband, father, Papa and brother. He loved his family dearly, and will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Daniel, Sr., and Belle (Johnson) Wilson; first wife, Mary C. Wilson; daughter, Chryl Martin; granddaughter, Dana McGlothin; brothers, Floyd Wilson, Hershel Wilson and Dorsey Wilson; and his sister, Elise Kimbrell.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Wilson of Oxford; son, Roger D. and Carolyn Wilson of Conyers; daughters, Connie Wylene and Terry Wilson of Steinhatchee, FL; Tonya and Tony Castellana of Covington; step-daughter, Ellen and Chris Lewis of Oxford; step-son, Michael Penn of Covington; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 more great-grandchildren expected; brothers, Vernon and Mildred Wilson of Nicholson, GA; Charles D. and Judy Wilson of Covington; sister, Maxine Smith of Seneca, SC; sister-in-law, Pamela Martin of Covington; brothers-in-law, Joe and Gail Plunkett of Covington; Richard and Connie Plunkett of Social Circle; Scott and Lisa Plunkett of Winder; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Mr. Wilson will be held Friday, June 21, 2013, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Jason Johnson officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, June 20, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
